However, the Figoli you see today started long before our name was ever on the door.
our Heritage
It all started in 1970 when Rob’s father, Maurizio Figoli made the decision to leave all he knew in Rome to start a new life in London. Through a chance meeting with the Mascolo brothers in an Italian restaurant in the corner of Clapham, he unexpectedly found himself at the centre of something special. He lived and worked alongside them in their earliest days, learning from them the highest level of hairdressing built on precision and discipline and an uncompromising attention to detail.
Maurizio became part of the first generation to carry this philosophy beyond London, establishing the Windsor salon in 1989 and building a reputation grounded in excellence.
In 1994, Rob joined the family business, learning the craft from the ground up and developing the same level of precision, discipline, and attention to detail.
When Maurizio retired in 2007, Rob took over, continuing his legacy while shaping it into something of his own.
Six years later, in 2013, Lucy walked through the doors of the salon, and from that moment, she and Rob have worked side by side. They married in 2017, and in 2019, just nine months before Covid changed the world, they made the decision to downsize, refocus, and create something more personal. Together, they opened their first salon, Figoli in Sunninghill.
Figoli became the place where their two worlds naturally came together. Rob brought years of exceptional hairdressing experience, technical skill, instinct, and artistry. Lucy brought her creative eye, design-led thinking, and attention to every detail, shaping the branding, interiors, website, marketing, and overall feel of the salon, while also running the business behind the scenes.
Together, Rob and Lucy have created something that feels much more than a salon. It is a shared vision, built with care, creativity, and purpose, where every detail has been considered and nothing is overlooked.
Figoli isn’t just Rob and Lucy it’s the incredible team around them. Together, they’ve built an environment where people feel supported, valued, and able to do their best work, without the noise that so often comes with this industry. It’s a culture grounded in respect, balance, and a genuine sense that everyone is part of something shared.
